摘要
Rumen acidosis in milk-fed calves due to dysfunction of the oesophageal groove can be a severe complication of various primary diseases. In one year only (1992), 64 calves suffering from ruminal acidosis were hospitalized in the IInd Medical Animal Clinic of Munich University. Diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of the disorder are discussed on the basis of these cases. Furthermore special examination methods are presented, by which the diagnosis can be supported and the prognosis specified as for example by rumen endoscopy.
