Low-temperature dielectric and x-ray diffraction studies on NaNbO3 substituted CaTiO3 reveals suppression of quantum fluctuations, when the concentration of NaNbO3 exceeds 2%. Group-subgroup considerations in conjunction with the knowledge of unstable phonon modes, obtained by first-principles calculations, show that the low-temperature phase is a unique type of ferrielectric phase that exhibits planar antiferroelectric and axial ferroelectric orders.
