Methodology of home planning within interdisciplinary team

A training system on accessibility for occupational therapists was created based on a methodology of home planning within an interdisciplinary team. The training system was developed by an interdisciplinary team composed of an architect and an occupational therapist, in partnership with disabled persons, physical medicine and rehabilitation physicians and the different workers involved in accessibility. Since its introduction five years ago, the program has trained 120 occupational therapists in various areas. There are plans to extend the program to include technical aids and to develop a similar training for architects and building technicians.
