摘要
Effect of offshoring of cost-effective labor from developing countries in the Information Technology (IT) industry of U.S., is discussed. Information Technology Association of America (ITAA) reported a loss of 1,04,000 IT jobs in U.S., during 2000-2003 due to offshoring. Labor importation plays a central role in offshoring which includes a key onshore component staffed by H-1Bs and L-1s in the U.S. and the visa holders act as liaisons to offshore staff, who are temporarily in U.S. for training. The issue of H-1B visa should be restricted only to the best talent of the world, who desires to get employed in IT related jobs in the U.S.
