摘要
This article is dedicated to the electromagnetic scattering of a finite volume of material. The volume has the shape of a thin plate and is excited by a plane wave. It is assumed that the plate is sufficiently thin compared to the wavelength of the incident wave so that the surface currents on the side edges of the plate can be ignored. Thus the plate can be viewed as an open surface, and coupled integral equations of the electric and magnetic type are derived for the equivalent electric and magnetic surface currents induced on the top and bottom of the plate. Appropriate boundary conditions are then used to solve the obtained integral equations in order to determine the radar cross section of the thin material plates.
