摘要
The idea of a Single Pan-European electricity market has been taking form during the last years and is propitiating deep changes and challenges of the electricity system and the different electricity markets. In order to assess such challenges, several dispatch models have been developed in recent years to study how a single electricity market could work. These models and those to come, will assess the future needs of electricity in Europe. EUPowerDispatch is a minimum-cost dispatch model of the European electricity system which was originally developed to investigate the need for cross-border transmission investment in Europe. This paper proposes an updated version of EUPowerDispatch that aims at analyzing the generation adequacy of the European electricity system in 2025. For that purpose, planned and unplanned outages of all single conventional generating units are modeled. The former are optimally and timely allocated while the latter are generated with chronological Monte Carlo simulations. Data of wind and PV solar production from several climate years are accounted for as well as hydro series of run-of-river and natural inflows to the hydro reservoirs.
