摘要
In deployment of smart grid system today's power system infrastructure are changing due to inclusion of large number of distributed generation units which are being integrated into power systems at distribution level. In such a environment of Smart Grid; resilience and self healing property of power system is very crucial. Fault diagnosis plays very important task in achieving these qualities and requires drastic change from its conventional to advanced forms. The proposed technique in this paper aims to locate and isolate a faulty section in a distribution system with distributed generation. The paper proposes the use of latest sensing and communication technology to fit in to automated modernized grid. Multi resolution analysis of fault signal is used to extract feature for fault diagnosis. Simulation is carried out on 15 Bus IEEE system using MATLAB 2013a. Results of developed coding to implement proposed methodology for performing various tasks of fault identification, classification and location are presented. The method can be find useful for locating faults in tomorrow's advanced smart grid environment.
