DOES INTEGRATING EUROPE NEED POLYLINGUALISM AND MULTICULTURALISM?

The paper deals with the cultural, economic, political consequences of the European integration process on language diversity in Europe. The author points out the European Union's objective in the field of language taking into account the Common European Framework, a part of European Union's language policy, and stresses that a foreign language should not be seen as a goal but as a tool.
