Magnetoelectric effect of Dy doped Bi5Ti3FeO15 films prepared by sol-gel method

摘要
The pure and Dy doped Bi5Ti3FeO15 films were prepared by sol-gel method. The ferroelectric, ferromagnetic, and magnetoelectric properties were investigated. It is shown that Dy doped Bi5Ti3FeO15 films display improved ferroelectric and ferromagnetic properties compared with the pure Bi5Ti3FeO15 films. The magnetoelectric effect is obviously enhanced after doping with Dy. Thus improved performance is correlated to the reduction of oxygen vacancies and the lattice distortion by Dy-ion doping into the Bi-site. The present results suggest a new candidate for multiferroic materials with magnetoelectric coupling effect at room temperature. (C) 2016 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
