THE DISTANCE EDUCATION CURRENT SCENARIO IN BRAZIL: THE CHALLENGES INTO THE TUTORS PERCEPTION

摘要
In the distance education modality, it is essential to use Information and communication technologies among the students, professors and tutors, who are separated physically or geographically. The scientific article at hand studies which the distance education current scenery is in Brazil and the detected challenges into the tutors' perception, who provide mentoring in universities. The aim is to identify the pros and cons into the distance education modality according to the perception of some tutors, which provide for a pedagogical service and the usage of the MOODLE platform to perform some educational activities into the UAB system (Open University of Brazil). A qualitative and quantitative search was carried through, and a written questionnaire was applied. From that, an analysis about the advantages and the challenges was made, which had been proposed by the tutors. The results present the importance of the tutors' perception, because such results keep up with the course programs, identify the positive factors that facilitate the interaction, students' learning, and the factors that can hinder the education and reflect in distance education quality.
