摘要：
In this paper, the authors study the correlation between the salaries of executives in the Chinese financial industry and corporate performance based on the Principal-Agent Theory. The study found out that the correlation between executives' salaries and corporate performance is weak especially in Chinese listed financial companies. This implies that the salary based incentive mechanism may not work well in terms of improving corporate performance. At the end of the paper, the authors propose several suggestions in promoting corporate performance of Chinese listed financial companies based on the current status of executives' performance.
