摘要
Alcator C-Mod is a high-field, high density, diverted, compact tokamak. The plasma is heated ohmically and by the injection of up to 8 MW of fast wave ICRF between 40 and 80 MHz into the plasma. ICRF is currently launched via 3 antennas. Design limits of various antenna components have limited ICRF coupled power to 5 MW with all antennas running concurrently. Operating individually, 1.75 MW has been injected into the plasma by each of the 2-strap antennas and 3 MW from the 4-strap antenna. Recent design changes will lead to even higher performance. Details regarding the design limits, analyses, and modifications are presented.
