摘要
Hole edge deforms in uniaxial tensile manner during hole expansion test (HET), despite that hole expansion ratio (HER) cannot be determined directly from uniaxial tensile test (UTT). Hole normally prepared by punching process and many defect like crack, dimple etc. present at hole's edge. Presence of defects at hole edge dictates that HER is a fracture based parameter and cannot be determined from normal deformation experiments e.g. UTT. An excellent correlation is established in this study between HER and notch mouth opening displacement at peak load (Delta delta(m)) determined from notch tensile test on double edge notched specimen.
