A phase transition observed at T-p = 7.65 K in the beta-pyrochlore oxide superconductor KOs2O6 is studied by means of heat capacity, K-39-NMR, and X-ray diffraction measurements using high-quality single crystals. We find evidence of an isomorphic structural transition at T-p without the off-center freezing of the K ion even below T-p. It is possibly related to the rattling motion of the K ion in an oversized atomic cage.
