摘要
In severely osteoporotic vertebral collapse patients with anatomical and functional deficits, surgical reconstruction is inevitable. But this therapeutic regimen alone is not sufficient to manage the highly unstable vertebral body. The hardware pull out is impending and the adequacy of fixation is questionable. Surgical intervention combined with solidifying material is expected to result in a satisfactory outcome. We presented two cases of transpedicular screw fixation with polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) reinforcement for patients with above mentioned condition. We could accomplish an immediate pain relief and neurologic recovery as well as radiologic evidence of fortification.
