摘要
The tensile properties of plain weft knitted fabrics under bi-axial loading condition are very significant to both the design and end use of fabrics. The experimental study of weft knitted fabrics is presented in this paper, in which polyester and cotton plain weft knitted fabrics were tested under different experimental conditions. The results indicate that experimental method affects the bi-axial tensile properties of plain weft knitted fabrics, especially the tensile elongation at break and Initial modulus. Comparison with polygon shape and cruciform shape, the square shape sample should be more convenient and stable to test. The effect of pre-tension on fabrics tensile properties should not be neglected.
