High-order FEM analysis of electromagnetic fields

摘要
Deals with the utilization of FEM in its "classical" (or h-variant) and p-variant applied to the solution of a magnetostatic problem. For a simple ferromagnetic circuit 2-D model, the magnetic vector potential and the flux density have been determined. The solutions obtained by both the above-mentioned variants are compared. For the classical variant, the solution was obtained by means of the commercial software Quickfield. For the p-variant solution, the special tailored software packet has been developed and tested. The choice of the optimal degree of approximating polynomials (for the p-variant) is discussed.
