摘要：

American Dream makes people believe that they will achieve their goals through hard work, courage and determination. A large number of movies have been shot with the theme of American Dream. The Pursuit of Happyness is one of them. This paper analysed the American Dream in this movie. However, some different elements from traditional American Dream have been embodied in the course of his pursuit of success and happiness. The main character, Chris Gardner, is a template for modern American Dream that emphasizes not only hard work, courage and determination, but also faith in family responsibilities.
