Model-based estimation of contact forces in flexible structures

摘要
In this contribution, two model-based concepts for contact force estimation in rotating machines are introduced. The observer concepts are based on the mathematical model of the affected structure and can estimate unknown forces with impact character or, for example, friction forces acting on a system. The methods do not need a model of the acting force and can be used, for example, for fault detection, contact model validation, estimation of nonlinear effects or control. In this contribution, the observers are used for fault detection. The methods can detect contacts between rotating and fixed parts by estimating the acting forces on the system. The performance of the observer techniques is shown in simulation and experimental results.
