摘要
Design of a novel G-band (140-220 GHz) waveguide to microstrip transition using an extended longitudinal E-Plane probe is presented in this paper. Proposed design with a wide operating band and low-loss is obtained through systematic parametric studies and optimization using HFSS (High Frequency Structure Simulator). The optimized transition has a comb like structure which enables it to have broadband characteristics. The low-complexity, low-profile transition is realized on a Quartz substrate of dielectric constant 3.8 and currently under experimental investigations.
