CO2 laser treatment for cervical squamous intraepithelial neoplasia (SIL). Experience of 1337 cases

摘要
Carbon dioxide (CO2) laser is a very effective instrument for the treatment of cervical intraepithelial lesions with a cure-rate over 90%, as reported in literature. Our experience on 1337 patients treated with vaporization (1026) or conization (311) confirms, at a long term follow-up, the low risk (4.6%) of failure: 2.1% as persistences and 2.5% as recurrences. Early (4.1%) and late (3.4%) complications were very. low and the compliance of patients was excellent: 96.5% of those treated under local anesthesia ( 1197 cases) did not refer significant symptoms.
