Research on Planning Innovation of BIW Based on the Flexible Manufacturing: As the Example of Innovation in SGMW

摘要
Based on the analysis of the characteristic of traditional body in white (BIW) production lines of vehicle manufacturers, according to the "N+1" main lines planning innovation of BIW product line in SAIC-GM-Wuling Automobile Co., Ltd. (SGMW), this paper firstly analyzed the unique characteristics and advantages of the "N+I" Production Planning Mode, such as modular assembly stations, N+1 layout of main line, oriented to painting and public assembly line, as well as a series of related innovations of BIW for low-cost and high-benefit effectively; then the significant performances after planning innovation of BIW were given; finally the concept of "N+1" innovation were promoted to other factories of SGMW and workshops.
