摘要
The aim of the study was to determine the frequency of infection in newborn population from Mazowiecki province, demographic analysis and the evaluation of the DNA-RNA hybrydisation technique in the urine. 1895 newborns aged 3-5 days were included in the study. Congenital CMV infection was diagnosed in 38 children -2,0%. Mostly children were born from 1st or 2nd pregnancy by mothers aged between 19-35 years, who in majority were physical and intellectual workers. The frequency of congenital cytomegalovirus infection in Poland is similar to the frequency of infection in other countries. The occurance of infection depended on socioeconomic status of mothers. The false positive results of CMV-DNA in urine were probably caused by contamination of specimens.
