摘要：
Self-expanding metal stents (SEMS) have been used in the human ureter for over 10 years. Published clinical and laboratory results are contradictory. They have a place in malignant disease. Their role in benign disease is uncertain. The most commonly used of the SEMS appears to be the 7 mm Wallstent (Boston Scientific Ltd/Schneider (Europe), St Albans, Herts, UK).
