Quantitative Analysis of Urban Competitiveness in Shandong Province

This paper first build the index system used to measure the competitiveness of cities in Shandong Province, then calculate the competitiveness of 17 cities of Shandong Province through the method of factor analysis, and find different cities' comprehensive competitiveness score. Then, this paper classified the competitiveness of these 17 cities as strong, quite strong, quite weak, weak four categories through cluster analysis and give assessments. The main conclusions are: ( 1) The competitiveness scores of most cities are quite low.(2). The competitiveness scores have a wide gap among different cities, Qingdao wins the highest score, its competitive advantage is obvious with the other cities.
