摘要
Understanding the sources and quantities of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions is critical to developing emission inventories that accurately represents oil and natural gas industry operations. The API Greenhouse Gas Emissions Methodology Working Group has undertaken a process to develop a Compendium of Methodologies and compare its recommended methods to those publicly available from governmental and intergovernmental organizations. Although the Compendium addresses both CO2 and CH4 emissions, this paper will focus on CH4 emissions.
