摘要
This paper discusses the rational evaluation of punching shear resistance for concrete slabs with shear-tie reinforcement. The deficiencies of existing endeavours, which form the basis for current code treatments, are recognised and an analytical methodology is presented to correct it. On the basis of a prerequisite formula which was created and proved out in the author's previous work, a set of expressions are proposed for the predictions of resistance corresponding to various possible failure modes. The methodology and expressions can serve in research to determine both the ultimate strength and failure mode for shear-tie reinforced slabs, and in practice to establish not only reasonable design formulae but also reliable detailing requirements. The emphases are also pointed out for future improvement in this direction.
