Effects of cost-cutting on safety performance in construction of petroleum installations

This paper examines the effects of changing market conditions due to health and safety in oil and gas construction projects. Today products are more and more the results of processes and human effort. The working environment will directly or indirectly influence the end product. The oil industry has to a large extend relied on Loss Time Injury (LTI) rate. This has been a significant help. But a lot of the inspiration is borrowed from stable manufacture industry. It could be some important differences to project organizations that are based on construction.
