摘要
The scarcity of potable water can be overcome by converting the saline water in to the drinkable water. The objective of the work is to enhance the performance of solar still by using phase change material (PCM) and mixing1% concentration Nano fluid in the water. A special paraffin wax with potassium nitrate is used as PCM and graphene oxide as nanofluid. The phase change materials are used to store the heat in day time and can be used in the night time for carrying out the desalination process. The experiment results showed that the productivity of water is increased for solar still with PCM and 1%concentration of nano fluid mixed in water compared with solar still with PCM and conventional solar still. The condensed water which is collected for conventional solar still, solar still with PCM and solar still with nano fluid and PCM are1820ml, 2680mland 3430ml respectively.
