摘要
In this paper, an efficient optimization technique for the synthesis of large thinned planar antenna (LTPA) arrays is proposed. The main objective is to achieve optimal planar thinned array configuration which yields lowest possible low peak side lobe levels (PSLL). Towards this aim, authors employed improved genetic algorithm (IGA) in which some advancement in crossover and mutation operators are introduced to enhance algorithm performance. A 50x50 element LTPA array is numerically analysed to assess the performance of the proposed method. Results obtained through this study demonstrate that significant amount of reduction in PSLL is acheived.
