摘要：
This paper is a report of the panel session of the same name held at the 1(st) International Workshop on Data Warehousing and Data Mining (DWDM'98) held in Singapore in November 1998. The purpose of the panel was to discover the views of researchers in the field in order to encourage research in data warehousing and data mining to be directed in the most profitably manner and to discuss issues relating to the open problems in the area.
