摘要
Coal tar pitch-based carbon foam is a new type of carbon foam obtained from mesophase pitch by foaming, solidification, carbonization and graphitization. On the basis of studying the preparation process of coal tar pitch and its foamed carbon, effect of different softening point and mesophase content of coal tar pitch on the structure and properties of carbon foams was emphatically investigated. The mesophase pitch with 100% mesophase content as raw material can he prepared in a wide temperature range with uniform pore structure, However, the mesophase pitch with non-100% mesophase content can be used to prepare carbon foam with uniform pore structure. Temperature range is relatively narrow. The mesophase pitch-based carbon foams were prepared by long time cooking method. The reason that the long-time coking could reduce the microcracks was explained.
