摘要：

Shot is often used as basic unit for both analyzing and retrieving video. The approach for automatic shot detection, using the texture character of eight neighbors, is better than traditional one on efficiency. For improving the accurate rate, this method is combined with the color information by adding key colors extraction. At last the result of experiment is given to approve the validity of the method.
