Electromagnetic simulation results of radiated waves from an antenna mounted in a car

摘要
Nowadays, situations of communicating from a car are becoming very common. Here, radiated intensities outside a car from a cabin antenna become very important. For this purpose, electromagnetic simulations are very useful because they can output many useful electrical properties such as radiation patterns, current distributions on a car body, VSWR characteristics and so on. Important subjects of simulating radiations from a cabin antenna are that capability of considering multiple reflected waves inside a cabin and tightening computational loads on a, computer. By taking into account simulation principles and required memory capacities of various simulators, a commercial Method of Moment (MM method) simulator is considered adequate. In this paper, outlines of a MM method are. explained. Calculation loads on a personal computer are shown. Calculated and measured results in 314 MHz are compared. Validity of calculation accuracies is shown through a agreement of calculated and measured results. Moreover, calculations are made in 500 MHz and 700MHz. As the calculation frequency increases, calculation loads on a personal computer become severe. It is shown that the highest frequency of simulation seems less than 700MHz.
