Value of αs from deep-inelastic-scattering data -: art. no. 015

We report the value of alpha(s) obtained from QCD analysis of existing data on de e p inelastic scattering of charged leptons or proton and deuterium and estimate its theoretical uncertainties with particular attention paid to impact of the high-twist contribution to the deep-inelastic-scattering structure functions. Taking in to account the major uncertain ties the value alpha(s)(NNLO)(MZ) = 0.1143 +/- 0.0014(exp.) +/- 0.0013(theor.) is obtained. An extrapolation of the LO-NLO-NNLO results to the higher orders makes it possible to estimate alpha(s)(N3LO)(M-Z) similar to 0.113.
