摘要
Axially loaded open-ended pipe piles can collapse in two fundamentally different ways, with or without plug formation. The factors that determine plug formation are generally not yet very well understood or described. A new model is developed to predict the settlement behaviour of large-diameter open-ended pipe piles (diameter 60-300 cm) and a new transfer function is developed for the pile tip resistance and for internal friction stress. A first application was the settlement evaluation of the Second Scheldt bridge in Temse.
