GisViewer: a web-based geo-spatial digital library

摘要
Geo-spatial digital libraries provide users with access to geospatial data. Access to this data is sometimes hindered through the lack of freely available viewing tools. Furthermore such digital libraries generally do not provide any method of remote update, thereby preventing the insertion of new data into the digital library over the Internet. In this paper we introduce GisViewer, a system for the decentralized management of a spatially enabled digital library. GisViewer supplies its users with a freely available tool for viewing and querying spatial data. In addition GisViewer also facilitates remote updates for authorized users. In an effort to ensure interoperability the GisViewer digital library complies with OpenGIS standards for geo-spatial features.
