摘要
The regional sustainable development mainly involves the population, resources, environment, economic and social development, and the assessment metholology to exploring regional development in sustain should cover five basic elements. The Human Development Index (HDI) put forward by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has been widely used to measure and compare relative human development level among different countries or regions, and it is a suitable tool to assessing the level of regional sustainable development. However, the Index can not reflect the quality of the regional resources and ecological environment. Based on the application of HDI by UNDP, this paper analyses and constructs one assessment system of regional sustainable development including the resource and environment indexes. At last, the comprehensive evaluation technique based on entropy weight is applied to assess the sustainable development of six provinces or city in China. The numerical example shows that the assessment methodology is easy to operate, and has a strong practical guidance.
