Letters from the editor Jose Batlo to Jose Manuel Caballero Bonald (1962-82)

This essay explores unpublished letters from the publisher Jose Batllo to Jose Manuel Caballero Bonald. These letters document Batllo's intense efforts to persuade Caballero Bonald to contribute to the journal La Trinchera, the collection Antologia de la nueva poesia espanola, the El Bardo collection, the poetic anthology dedicated to Che Guevara, and the journal Camp de l'Arpa. The letters reflect Batllo's endeavors to advance the worlds of publishing and literature during the postwar, the late Franco era, and the Spanish Transition. At the same time, they offer previously unpublished information about the literary trajectory of Caballero Bonald, winner of the 2012 Cervantes Prize.
