Conversion of hydrocarbons and methanol with carbon dioxide on oxide catalysts: The mechanism of CO2 activation

摘要
Reaction of methane, ethane, propane, ethylene, methanol, and organic residues (coke) with carbon dioxide on the surface of Ni, Cr, and Mn oxides and on the multicomponent catalysts modified by manganese oxide was studied. It was shown that the efficiency of the Mn-containing systems in the conversion of these hydrocarbons can be explained by the activation of carbon dioxide on the surface of MnO. The mechanism of CO2 activation during MnCO3 formation and its further oxidative reactions with an organic compound is based on the data on thermal desorption of CO2.
