摘要
In humans, an epiglottic abscess is a possible complication of epiglottitis. It can sometimes lead to a life-threatening condition as it induces an enlargement of the epiglottis, which can then lead to an obstruction of the airways. In such cases, the treatment consists of immediate surgical intervention. In the following, two case studies of an epiglottic abscess in dogs are described regarding the clinical signs, diagnosis and treatment.
