Static fatigue and cyclic fatigue behaviour of a unidirectional carbon/epoxy composite

摘要
Static and cyclic three point bending tests were implemented on a unidirectional carbon/epoxy composite material. Under static loading catastrophic failure occurs without any pronounced damage growth,, while damage development is a function of the amplitude of the alternating stress in cyclic fatigue. The damaging modes associated to these loading conditions are discussed.
