The purpose of this study was to examine causal and responsibility attributions, in I elation to sex and marital adjustment, and to investigate the contribution of these attributions in predicting marital adjustment. Far this purpose, the Marital Adjustment Test (MAT) and the Relationship Attribution Measure (RAM) were administered to 224 married people (112 men and 112 women). In general, the results indicated that marital distress was negatively related with attributions made for spouse's negative behaviors. Of the various types of attributions, the motivation attribution was the only significant predictor of marital adjustment.
