摘要
Composites are receiving an utmost importance in today's scenario for their taylor made properties. Composites have a wide variety of applications in areas like aerospace, marine industry, automobiles and in engineering. They are considered because of their better mechanical properties. In a view to reduce the cost of production and the harmful destruction in normal environment, there's a extensive research have been conducted or still ongoing for the prospect of using natural fibers which are wholly degradable in the combination of biodegradable thermoplastic materials. This research will focus on Kenaf; an extremely valuable natural fiber with robust mechanical properties. In this research, kenaf fiber/fiber glass reinforced with unsaturated polyester composites were subjected to Flexural test and Tensile tests as per ASTM standards. A three point bending test was adopted to find the flexural strength of the prepared lamina. The test result shows that 8mm hybrid lamina has good flexural and tensile properties when compared to other lamina. (c) 2017 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
