The cross section of the neutron capture reaction 13C(n,γ)14C

摘要：
We calculate the cross section and reaction rate of the neutron capture reaction C-13(n,gamma)C-14 which plays an important role in helium burning zones of red giant stars as well as in inhomogeneous big bang models. We consider both the direct capture to bound states and resonant capture to the 143 keV resonance. Interferences between the direct and resonant contributions are taken into account. The resulting total cross section is compared with experimental cross sections.
