摘要
The very massive star eta Car presents a number of significant, well-defined, disconcertingly basic, unsolved problems in several branches of astrophysics. This and related objects now constitute a rather large topic with diverse implications and many recent surprises. Being relatively unexplored ground, the subject offers extraordinary opportunities for theoretical work.
