Synthesis and antimicrobial activities of phenanthryl and biphenyl chalcone derivatives

摘要：
Reaction of 1,3-diaryl-2-propen-1-ones 1 with hydrazine hydrate and phenyl hydrazine produced different substituted 2-pyrazolines of the type 3 and 4; acetylation of 3 gave 5; treatment of 3 with benzoyl chloride and benzene sulphonyl chloride afforded compounds 6 and 7 respectively. Interaction of 3 with phenylisocyanate and phenylisothiocyanate gave 8 and 9 respectively. The antibacterial activity of some of these prepared derivatives was studied.
