摘要
Design concepts of directional backlight units for 2D/3D and 3D/2D field-alternate auto-stereoscopic full resolution medium size LCDs have been studied, and the design issues and constraints have been revealed. The optical characteristics of light collimating and directing light-guide plate (LGP), and the light deflecting film have been researched in details and the modification of the LGP, the light deflecting film were performed. The optical matching between the components and especially in the designs of 2D/3D and 3D/2D backlight units (BLUs), and the related issues have been clarified for a display with a diagonal size of 180.34 mm/7.1 in.
