On July 24, 2014, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) held an open forum to review proposed changes to the Nutrition Facts Label and to allow for public comment on these changes. Lisa Gutekunst, MSEd, RD, CSR, CDN, Chair of the National Kidney Foundation Council on Renal Nutrition, lobbied the FDA to add phosphorus to the Nutrition Facts Label.
