摘要
The low-polygon three-dimensional (3D) models with a high degree of realism are especially expected for realtime interactive applications. However, to develop a visual convincing model of irregular objects is one of the most difficult problems in visual simulation. Several techniques, such as Texture Mapping, Instance, Level of Detail (LOD), etc., are usually used to solve these problems. These techniques can obviously increase the performance of the visual database in the realtime system. Substituting texture mapping for polygonal modeling to create an efficient and realistic 3D model in Creator software was discussed in detail, and the techniques of instance and LOD, taking an example of a rocket model, were also mentioned in the paper.
